The role is designed for a committed professional ready to implement individualized interventions and collaborate closely with a dedicated paraeducator and teaching team.

What You Bring:

  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate (GaPSC) and Elementary Special Education Certification (please be prepared to provide documentation)
  • Substantial experience supporting students with physically aggressive behaviors, ideally in a school-based environment
  • Strong behavioral management skills and an ability to foster trust and rapport with students
  • Creative approach to delivering reading interventions
  • Reliable transportation to ensure consistent, on-site presence

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing one-on-one educational and behavioral support to a 5th-grade female student
  • Implementing tailored lesson plans focused on academic and reading progress
  • Collaborating closely with a dedicated paraprofessional and teacher to ensure consistent strategies and student care
  • Utilizing provided restraint training as needed, per district protocols
  • Monitoring student development and communicating progress with the broader educational team and family

This Opportunity Offers:

  • Full-time, contract work (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) through at least May 2026, with high potential for another year
  • A focused, manageable caseload supporting just one student
  • Access to district-provided behavioral intervention and restraint training
