Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A center-based behavior program is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students requiring intensive behavioral interventions and assistance with reintegration into general education settings. This role is based in Osseo, MN, and involves working primarily with students in grades K5, focusing on 2nd through 5th grades. The program maintains a high staff-to-student ratio to provide personalized support to students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with educational assistants, and facilitating student reintegration into mainstream classrooms. The caseload consists of approximately 10 students with a variety of disabilities, including Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Disabilities (OHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and visual impairments.
Key duties:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students behavioral and academic needs within a center-based classroom
- Collaborate with a team of 7 educational assistants to ensure consistent support and positive student outcomes
- Monitor student progress and adjust behavior and educational plans accordingly
- Support reintegration efforts by coordinating with general education staff and families
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education
- Valid Minnesota State licensure in Special Education
- Experience working with students exhibiting behavioral challenges preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with interdisciplinary staff
