Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A center-based behavior program in Saint Francis, MN is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support students requiring intensive behavioral interventions and assistance with reintegration into general education settings. This position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and behavior support to a caseload of approximately 10 students primarily in grades 2 through 5, with the possibility of including kindergarten through 5th grade as new students join the program.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional and behavioral plans tailored to students needs within the center-based classroom.
- Collaborate with a high staff-to-student ratio team, including seven educational assistants, to provide consistent support and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Support student reintegration by coordinating transitions to mainstream classrooms during the day for many students.
- Monitor progress, document behavior and academic growth, and communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams regularly.
- Address the diverse needs of students with Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Disabilities (OHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Blind/Visual Impairments (BVI).
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education.
- Valid Minnesota State Licensure in Special Education.
- Experience working in behavior-focused or center-based special education programs is preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment.
