Job Title: Special Projects Engineer 3 Location 4250 Porter Road SW Quinton AL 35130 (plant Miller) Duration : 3 months Job Summary: The Special Projects Engineer will provide technical expertise and support for projects within the organization that fall outside of typical norms. The role involves assisting with project planning, execution, and coordination to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives. This position requires extensive experience in electronics, instrumentation, program configuration, distributed/process control systems, and plant electrical maintenance. Key Responsibilities: PLC and DCS Cabinet Support: Provide support for PLC and DCS cabinet cleaning of instrumentation during Miller Unit outages. Plan, coordinate, execute, and communicate effectively with the outage team. Project Planning and Coordination: Assist in the development of project plans for special initiatives. Collaborate with project teams to gather and organize project requirements. Provide support in coordinating project activities to ensure timelines are met. Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between project stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity. Contribute to preparing and maintaining project documentation. Technical Support: Provide technical support in identifying and resolving project-related issues. Apply engineering principles to solve challenges and ensure the smooth execution of projects. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports on project progress and key milestones. Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all project activities. Qualifications: Education: Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience: 10 to 15 years of related experience, including experience in electronics, instrumentation, program configuration, distributed/process control systems, and plant electrical maintenance. Skills and Expertise: Proficiency in advanced project coordination, project planning, and technical support. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively within a team. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors. This position is essential in driving successful project execution and ensuring that projects meet all technical and timeline requirements.
