Job Description L3Harris is searching for a technical professional to join the Data Center Operational Support Services team as a Specialist, Systems Administrator. Responsibilities for this position include supporting Linux Domains, vulnerability and compliance remediation, physical and virtual Linux OS server support, application support, and physical and virtual desktop OS support. This position will also require the management of data center infrastructure such as enterprise storage, fiber channel switches, and VMware vSphere. Onsite position located at L3Harris offices in Melbourne, Florida. Requires weekend, after-hours, or on-call rotations to meet program requirements and/or ongoing program support. May require limited travel in an emergency. Essential Functions Support and maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Group Policy, DHCP, Site and Services, Users and Computers. Responsible for supporting the installation, configuration, and maintenance of workstations in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines. Responsible for building, configuring, and maintaining virtual compute environments using solutions like VMware vSphere and Horizon. Support software installations, upgrades, and patching operating systems according to established policies, procedures, and service level agreements. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and wide area network related problems associated with the assigned Enterprise system(s). Coordinate with server and operating system vendors to resolve issues, arrange service, and obtain support. Develop schedules for installation and monitoring of local network and stand‑alone information resources. Install and provide support for internal development software and applications. Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance. Ensure server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines. Knowledgeable of networking associated with a LAN-based server and workstations. Ability to obtain an FAA Public Trust. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and minimum four years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of two years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills Experience with VMware Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Connection Brokers, UAGs, AppVorks), vRealize Operations Manager, and Log Insight.
