Every Special Child Is seeking dedicated and qualified SPED Teacher for up-coming School Year 2024 -25 to join our team in Newark CA. We have the following requirements:

Mod/severe TK teacher and a high school RSP teacher
Start Date: August 6th
End Date: May 29,
No. Of Working Hours: 7.5
No. Of Working Days: 186 when hired a full day

The RSP Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). They collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure the academic and social-emotional success of students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and Implementing IEPs: Design and implement instructional strategies and accommodations outlined in students' IEPs.
  2. Individualized Instruction: Provide direct and small-group instruction tailored to students' academic and behavioral needs.
  3. Collaboration: Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curricula as needed and ensure inclusion in general education settings.
  4. Assessment: Assess students' progress, maintain records of educational and behavioral data, and provide regular progress reports to parents and stakeholders.
  5. Behavioral Support: Implement behavioral interventions and support strategies to foster positive behavior and social skills development.
  6. Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in special education, attend professional development workshops, and participate in ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching credential in Special Education (required).
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to tailor instruction to meet individual student needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to physically assist students as needed (e.g., lifting, guiding mobility).

Working Conditions:

  • Typically works in a school setting, including classrooms and resource rooms.
  • May require occasional meetings outside of regular school hours.
