Job Description:

As a SQL Server Reports Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise reporting solutions, database objects, and reporting applications across SQL Server and Oracle environments. You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, design scalable reporting solutions, and deliver high-quality reports and analytics that support business decision-making. This role requires strong expertise in SSRS, SQL Server, Oracle databases, .NET development, ETL processes, and modern DevOps practices to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance SSRS reports and database objects for enterprise reporting solutions.
• Create and support .NET Core MVC applications used for reporting and business operations.
• Design, develop, and optimize reporting solutions against SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of reports, queries, and database objects.
• Test reporting solutions and database objects thoroughly prior to user acceptance testing.
• Apply Agile development methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
• Work with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, document, and validate reporting requirements.
• Assist in the design and implementation of reporting databases, report servers, and security configurations.
• Research and evaluate new software releases, enhancements, and reporting technologies.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for work item tracking, project updates, effort estimation, and status reporting.
• Manage source code repositories and version control using Git.
• Create, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate report and application deployments.
• Publish and manage reports within Power BI Service workspaces and deployment pipelines across multiple environments.
• Ensure adherence to organizational development standards, governance policies, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor team members on reporting, database, and development best practices.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for reports, database objects, processes, and deployments.
• Independently manage assignments and deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• 3 5 years of experience in reporting, database development, or related technical roles.
• Strong experience developing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Extensive experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL development.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server databases and T-SQL development using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Strong experience working with Oracle databases and PL/SQL development using SQL Developer.
• Experience handling large datasets and developing enterprise reporting solutions from multiple data sources.
• Strong understanding of relational and multidimensional database design concepts.
• Experience with data modeling and database architecture analysis.
• Strong experience with .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, C#, dependency injection, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for Agile project management, work item tracking, and release management.
• Experience using Git for source control and version management.
• Experience publishing and managing reports in Power BI Service environments.
• Knowledge of report server administration, security configuration, and reporting infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent technical experience.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
