Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. This role ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions while complying with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Experience in general accounting functions including, but not limited to accounts payable; accounts receivable, general ledger; month end closing; cost accounting; forecasting; bank reconciliations; etc. and ad hoc accounting and finance analysis and projects. Prepare, review and analyze accounting records, financial statements, taxes and other financial reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

·         Preferred the candidate has experience working for a manufacturing company.

·         Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.

·         Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes accurately and on time.

·         Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulations.

·         Maintain and analyze accounting records and reports.

·         Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to inquiries.

·         Prepare and submit tax filings, including sales/use tax, property tax, and corporate income tax returns as required.

·         Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow reports.

·         Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

·         Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and irregularities.

·         Participate in process improvement initiatives and system implementations.

·         Entry of project labor into SAP

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5+ Years’ accounting work experience in manufacturing or similar area
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP with strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent skills in SAP Business One software are preferred (Sql and Crystal reporting is a plus)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Payroll Experience (ADP)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization
  • Leadership skills and dedication to driving and achieving results

Education

B.S.B.A. Degree with Accounting Major preferred.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
