Senior Cloud Operations Engineer – OpenStack | Remote (U.S. Only)

Job Description:

We’re hiring a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join our client’s team, an innovative cloud communications platform empowering Managed Service Providers (MSPs). In this role, you’ll take ownership of our hybrid cloud infrastructure, helping us scale and optimize our multi-data-center OpenStack environment. This is a remote position (U.S. only), with occasional on-site travel to support deployments and hardware integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scale and optimize OpenStack clusters across nine private data centers
• Own the full lifecycle of hardware procurement, rack install, and integration
• Work directly with colocation providers on power/cooling and capacity planning
• Build infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and MaaS
• Develop observability pipelines using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
• Collaborate with infrastructure and reliability teams to build next-gen architecture

What You’ll Bring:

• Strong experience with OpenStack (Nova, Neutron, Keystone) and Ceph
• Proficiency with Terraform, Pulumi, OpenTofu, or similar IaC tools
• Deep Linux experience, including bare-metal performance tuning
• Familiarity with networking (VLANs, routing, SD-WAN, Direct Connect)
• Experience managing hardware procurement and colocation SLAs
• Bonus: Kubernetes, OpenShift, APM, or DCIM tools
