Sr. Director, Advanced R&D Projects gfLABSGlobalFoundries' gfLABS organization drives differentiated technology innovation with a strategic horizon of two years and beyond. We collaborate closely with our businesses and ecosystem partners to define and execute medium- and long-range R&D programs.We are seeking a visionary executive to lead the Advanced R&D Projects (ARDP) team within gfLABS. This role is ideal for a seasoned semiconductor technologist with deep expertise in CMOS, RF, NVM, or Power technologies, and a strong background in substrates, materials, process integration, and tooling. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to a high-performing team of engineers and project managers.Essential Responsibilities:Develop and execute the gfLABS strategy and roadmap aligned with the business needs and product line evolution.Lead planning and execution of joint development programs targeting current and emerging markets.Build and mentor a multidisciplinary execution team, including technologists, process engineers, and project managers.Cultivate partnerships with suppliers, universities, and research institutions to address targeted R&D challenges.Champion the value of gfLABS initiatives through clear communication and demonstrated ROI to business stakeholders.Oversee gfLABS operations:Manage 8-quarter budget planning and performanceEstablish OKR-driven management systemsOptimize project scope and timelines for strategic impactDrive continuous improvement in processes and systemsOther Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fieldMinimum 15 years of experience in semiconductor R&DFluent in English (written and verbal)Willingness to travel 2550%, including to GF's 200mm fab in Burlington, VTLocation: flexible, prefer NY or VTPreferred Qualifications:Proven executive leadership and strategic planning experienceStrong project management and organizational skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilitiesExpected Salary Range $189,600.00 - $330,300.00.
