The Advanced Recording group performs high ADC spin-stand testing and modeling to global groups to guide transducer level and drive level design for advanced HDD products. About the role - you will: Work with manual/ CNC toolroom machines, 3 and 5 axis set up and operation Read blueprints and shop work requests Be responsible for material handling and inspection Work with component assembly Conduct routine machine maintenance Implement 5S activities Work with quality inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, surface gages and Cadillac gages and optical measurement equipment About you: Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace. Your experience includes: Ability to understand dimensions and tolerances and a good working knowledge of shop mathematics. Ability to do basic programming in Mastercam or related CAD/CAM packages. A good understanding of basic geometric tolerancing. Must be able to understand directions in written, oral or diagram form. Knowledge of various industrial machines including: CNC equipment (ours are currently Haas VMC and 5 axis machines) Both manual mills and lathes Sheet metal brakes and notchers (manual) and hydraulic shear Calipers, micrometers and precision bore gages Good Windows based PC skills You might also have: 2 Year technical degree in machining or tool & die recommended or work equivalent. Ability to apply skills learned in the classroom to situations in the workplace. A good understanding of basic trigonometry. The estimated base wage range for this position is $33.00 - $48.00/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
