Line Of Business Data & Analytics Job Description Depth & Scope Provides people management leadership by hiring, setting goals, developing staff, managing performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork, and handling disciplinary actions. Oversees and leads a large and/or highly complex reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills, supporting projects, initiatives, and business results. Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, and executives within the area of expertise. Acts as a strategic partner to leadership on portfolio and financial management, with deep industry and enterprise knowledge, recognizing emerging trends. Sets operational team direction and collaborates with others to execute common goals. Focuses on longer‑range planning for the functional area (e.g., 12 months or greater). Analyzes, designs, and develops data repositories, warehouses, and marts, data movement, wrangling, mapping, and transformation (ETL) processes. Supports Reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, applications, platforms, and tools leveraged across all functional groups (e.g., Data Scientists, Business Insights & Analytics). May also develop sophisticated data preparation frameworks and architecture for Data Scientists. Supports data modeling capabilities to structure business data for various novel capacities. Supports business teams in using and understanding data and reporting solutions. Develops data roadmap and information‑management strategies and corresponding technical solutions for integrating, transforming, and managing data. Drives data‑centric solution development focusing on complex data integration. Adopts the Enterprise Data model in alignment with the OCDO and other data & analytics groups. Elicits, solicits, analyzes, and understands data requirements (e.g., market research, requirement gathering, feature planning, user experience/design) to enable solution development. Education & Experience Undergraduate degree or technical certificate; graduate degree preferred. 10+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background. Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, and technologies used in preparing summaries and reports. Analytical and program‑solving skills to interpret data and draw conclusions. Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends. Skill in managing budgets and resource allocation. Skill in mentoring, coaching, and performance management. Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods, and reporting techniques. Skill in using computer applications including MS Office. Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of initiatives. Excellent written and oral communication. Sets team goals aligned with overall business strategies. Ensures delivery of data products in report/presentation format to specifications and timelines aligned with governance strategies. Responsible for ongoing data sourcing and management (quality assurance, analysis, and distribution of Management Information). Supports business segment leadership in utilizing information excellence program capabilities. Builds data management capabilities as a competitive advantage. Leads efforts to integrate siloed, irregular, and external data into consolidated customer view to drive predictive analytics. Assesses existing analytics tools and enhances capabilities and data quality for automation. Investigates new opportunities for more effective methodologies and processes for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data. Shareholder Accountabilities Leads and manages the team responsible for business information management deliverables and contributes to project business and data requirements. Ensures adherence to data management and governance standards, manages issues and risks, and supports risk mitigation and contingency planning. Implements, maintains, and enhances Enterprise Data Governance policies aligned with TD standards. Develops and manages departmental plan and budget, ensuring compliance with targets and vendor terms. Manages intake and demand, coordinates resources, and sources appropriate talent across all work streams. Oversees privacy and security requirements, maintains data governance and access controls. Participates in audit reviews of internal controls and processes as needed. Ensures compliance with enterprise technology delivery practices, standards, and project management disciplines. Identifies and escalates key issues, risks, and regulatory compliance matters. Contributes to cross‑functional or enterprise initiatives as an organization or subject‑matter expert. Oversees or leads remediation plans for performance, risk, or governance issues, uncovering root causes and ensuring resolution. Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses impacts.
