JOB TITLE: Sr. Aircraft Cabinet Finisher

LOCATION: Cahokia, IL

PAY RATE: $33.81 per hour

Qualifying Questions:

Details:

  • 12-month contract with opportunities for extension

  • 1st shift

Summary:

  • Perform complex, high-quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniture both in the shop and on board aircraft.

  • Apply finishes to furniture using spray equipment and other manual or mechanical methods.

  • Interpret material specifications to ensure finished products meet design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail.

  • Coordinate with the Design group to ensure compliance with customer-approved design samples.

  • Champion and comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping protocols.

  • Ensure the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP).

  • Mentor and train less skilled technicians.

  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance safety, reduce costs, decrease cycle time, and minimize man-hours using Lean Six Sigma tools.

  • Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demands, track issues, and sign off on work.

  • Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements as needed.

  • Assume lead responsibilities as needed.

  • Oversee projects and coordinate with the lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.

  • Conduct safety audits and assist team members with safety audits.

  • Help maintain shop equipment and associated Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

  • Develop YI@W (Your Ideas at Work) initiatives as opportunities arise.

  • Assist in monthly 5S audits.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Possess a working knowledge of inspection, process specifications, and terminology.

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.

  • Must be computer literate.
