Job Title: Sr. Citrix Engineer/Solution Architect

Location: Warrenville, IL || Skokie, IL || Arlington Heights, IL (Hybrid_ 2x week onsite)

Duration: 6 months Contract to hire

Interview Process: The 1st round will be a 1-hour video interview, followed by an onsite interview for the 2nd round.

Note: Candidates must be able to speak in-depth technically during the interview process. If they are only able to speak at a high level, they will not move forward with them. They are open to a highly experience Sr Citrix engineer, does not need to have the "architect" title

Position Summary: This specialized role focuses on designing and optimizing application delivery mechanisms within a healthcare technology infrastructure. The architect works collaboratively with enterprise and other solution architects to ensure seamless, secure, and scalable computing environments for clinical staff across a large, multi-location healthcare organization.

Must Haves

  • Citrix Expertise: Deep knowledge of Citrix environments is a primary requirement.
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI): Extensive experience in VDI and desktop engineering.
  • Application Delivery Technologies: Expertise in cross-platform application deployment and user experience optimization.

Standard Job Description

Works as a Solution Architect II, collaborating with various teams in the architecture of existing and new technologies for Endeavor Health. Solution Architect II, will participate in aligning business objectives with IT initiatives leading to more efficient and effective operations. Participates in conversations on strategic decisions helping the organization invest in the right technologies based on deep understanding of business objectives, cost efficiency, and risk reduction. Evaluates existing IT systems for efficiencies, performance, security, risk, and cost improvements.

The Solutions Architect II, provides technical expertise in their respective domains (3 or greater) collaborating with other Solution Architects and business units to contribute to the enterprise architecture strategy. Work with the AVP Enterprise Architecture/Enterprise Architect on the effective management and delivery of complex architectures/solutions, maintaining focus on quality, risk, cost management, while navigating operational and organizational dynamics. To be successful in this role, you will be expected to remain updated on the latest solutions and technologies and advocate for the adoption of industry best practices.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • [40%] Contributes to complex enterprise architecture strategies that enable value, quality, growth, and risk management across the enterprise. Provides insight into a function or specialty through analysis and knowledge of best practices to solve complex problems, driving thought leadership and innovation. Develop proposals, respond to business requirements, and provide subject matter expertise. Serves as communication and collaboration bridge between various departments and external partners, leading to better project outcomes and a more cohesive work environment.
  • [30%] Contributes to aligning IT initiatives with the organization's business objectives.
  • [25%] Reduces costs and improves resource allocation by optimizing the IT infrastructure and eliminating redundancies. Identifies and integrates new technologies to drive business growth and to enable the organization to respond quickly to market changes. Develops a roadmap for the future state of technology which aligns the architecture and processes with business strategies and objectives. Explains technology trends and vendor roadmaps in terms appropriate for operational partners. Stays current with IT platform technologies, architectures, best practices, and methodologies.
  • [5%] Participates in On-Call rotation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Certification Requirements

  • 2 or more mid-expert level platform certifications IE. VCP, VCAP, CCNP, CCIE, MZ-AZ, NCTSP or equivalent experience.
  • ITIL, TOGAF, CEAP, PMP or equivalent experience.

Minimum Work Experience

  • Five (5) or more years of IT engineering experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of enterprise solution architectural experience.

Minimum Work Experience Preferred

  • 7 years IT engineering experience. Expert engineering knowledge across 3 or more IT Platforms such as MS AD, Cloud, Virtualization, Backup, Storage, Network, Security, Application Delivery.
  • 3 years or solution architecture experience in a highly complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience with operationalizing IT platform solutions.
  • Experience with aligning business objective with IT initiatives.
  • Securing IT Platforms and risk management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) [Optional]

  • Excellent verbal and written skills essential for providing positive customer service and good communication with various business leaders and front-line staff.
