Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in OpenStack, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing large-scale private cloud environments. This role requires extensive experience with all OpenStack modules, strong networking and security skills, and hands‑on experience migrating virtual machines from VMware ESXi to OpenStack. The Senior Cloud Engineer will play a critical role in our cloud strategy, driving innovation and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and maintain a robust and scalable OpenStack private cloud infrastructure. Lead the migration of our existing VMware ESXi based virtual machines to the OpenStack platform, ensuring minimal downtime and a seamless transition. Manage and administer all aspects of the OpenStack environment, including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, and other modules. Implement and manage software‑defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) solutions within the OpenStack environment. Ensure the security and compliance of the cloud infrastructure by implementing and managing security best practices, policies, and procedures. Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Monitor the health, performance, and capacity of the OpenStack cloud, and proactively address any issues. Collaborate with development and operations teams to support the deployment of applications and services on the OpenStack cloud. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the team. Stay current with the latest OpenStack developments and industry best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Required Skills and Experience 7-10 years of experience in a cloud engineering or similar role, with a focus on private cloud technologies. Extensive hands‑on experience with OpenStack, including a deep understanding of its architecture and core components. Proven experience in migrating workloads from VMware ESXi to OpenStack. Strong experience with Linux (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and/or Windows Server administration.
