Sr. Database Administrator The Waltz Health Sr. Database Administrator's primary role is to oversee the database performance, perform database maintenance, and support of database technologies. They be responsible for providing operational database services for our organization. Additional responsibilities include owning, tracking, and resolving database-related incidents and requests. Role also includes performance tuning and writing code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures, views, and triggers, as well as oversite of database security. This role will also oversee the data integration work for Engineering Enablement, including data model, maintaining Waltz Health Microsoft Azure database environments. Essential duties and responsibilities include demonstrating knowledge of cloud database architectures employing database and data lake technologies, managing, supporting, and maintaining database technologies (Postgres and Snowflake) and infrastructure, maintaining database configurations and designs, implementation/support of databases, storage structures, replication, Hyperscale, Clusters, logical partitioning, and disaster recovery solutions, ability to work in the Azure environment, providing DBA support for enterprise monitoring, backup, alerting, and security compliance solutions for database servers, performing data analysis to uncover issues and solve complicated problems that typically span multiple systems, and demonstrating a dedication to continuous improvement, both in terms of data management, quality, and accessibility. Consultation includes effectively partnering with information security engineers to ensure database service support information security requirements, partnering where necessary with business application engineering to expand and enhance database related services, ensuring data management solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements, and providing technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of applications and database related issues. Thought leadership includes providing thought leadership in solutioning advance data technology strategies and pro-actively deploying solutions that improve data quality. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities include a Bachelors/Degree in Computer Science or other technology field, 5-7 years of DBA experience with Snowflake and Postgres, expert in writing complex stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers, strong knowledge and extensive experience with database technologies supporting clustering, Data Synchronization, Encryption, Partitioning, Performance and Security, sound knowledge of MS/Azure database management and performance utilities, and excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, fast learner, hardworking and good team player. Physical/mental demands and working environment include office work where the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
