JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sr. Electrical Engineer will demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and standards. This role will involve leading projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical expertise to support operations and projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Provide accurate estimation of hours needed to complete assignments.
  • Develop and review electrical designs, schematics, and layouts of various systems including power distribution, control systems and instrumentation, including performance of quality checks on designs of others.
  • Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses for electrical systems and installations.
  • Interface with vendors as needed to support quotes; specify and procure electrical equipment and materials.
  • Support a package with a design team for a customer per the 10/30/60/90 method as needs determine.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide support during construction, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems.

COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in power systems or 6+ field assignments with a degree in Electrical Engineering CAPM or 3+ years leading design projects.
  • Professional engineering for 1 or more states.
  • SME (subject matter expert) in one of the four specialties:
  • Physical Designs
  • Protection and Control
  • System studies and relay programming
  • Network designs and relay programming
  • Experience mentoring designers to perform power assignments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Advanced computer knowledge and efficiency including Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to recognize, report and solve problems in a creative, positive, and constructive way and make recommendations for policy and procedure changes.
