Position: Sr. Formulation Technician
Location: Sunnyvale, CA, 94085
Duration: 12 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: Monday to Friday 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
Summary:
- Work in a team-based manufacturing laboratory responsible for synthesizing, testing, and qualifying ion exchange media used in chromatography consumables.
- The role supports high-quality production through accurate testing, documentation, data analysis, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing and qualification of resin products using specialized instruments to meet customer demand
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately while maintaining proper documentation
- Complete complex production work orders according to established procedures
- Analyze data, derive conclusions, and prepare technical reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing and quality goals
- Adhere to ISO 9001 guidelines and corporate quality policies
- Follow EH&S safety requirements and participate in safety improvement initiatives
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and propose countermeasures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and follow written SOPs and verbal instructions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong sense of ownership, punctuality, and ability to meet deadlines
- Understanding of production schedules and task prioritization
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform standing, walking, sitting, and manual handling tasks
Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
- Hands-on experience in a chemistry laboratory
- Knowledge of chromatography software
- Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., wrenches, torque drivers, tweezers)
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and PPI Continuous Improvement tools
- Willingness to continuously learn and develop new technical skills
