Carelon's Chief Growth Office is looking to hire a Sr Client Partnership and Growth Director. S/he will be responsible for strengthening existing relationships with Carelon's clients and building new relationships with health plan targets to drive growth across all Carelon products. This Director reports to a VP of Client Partnerships and Growth - and is accountable for managing the partnerships and growth agendas for multiple health plan clients across all Carelon Health Services Solutions. S/he is responsible for managing assigned new growth opportunities for the core Carelon businesses.


This role will work in a hybrid model from any US Corporate work location. Internal title - Corporate Development Director II


How you will make an impact:

  • Identify and develop new growth opportunities by building or strengthening beneficial relationships with target Senior Leaders/influencers to create a sustainable and comprehensive Carelon strategic roadmap.

  • Establish trust amongst our Carelon Business Unit (BU) colleagues, collaborate with BU growth teams and related partners to ensure a unified Carelon growth approach with clients and accelerate new business opportunities.

  • Conducts valuation analysis across all Carelon solutions to recommend highest growth opportunities for advancement; identify solution integration and bundling options for a more robust client footprint; drive risk discussions.

  • Independently develops sales presentations and assists in initial high level opportunity analysis for growth opportunities.

  • Understands the issues specific to each client and applies knowledge, insight and experience into strategic recommendations and understands the business processes and products that the Carelon solutions support.

  • Partners with Carelon BU's functional leaders to ensure superior growth pitch development and successful sales presentations.

  • Contributes to deal structuring negotiations and creative solutioning for growth opportunities.

  • Promote Carelon through a grassroots approach (where feasible) while remaining focused on impactful opportunities.

  • Participates in developing product and sales support messaging and materials and leads the overall client growth planning strategy.

  • Ability to link industry trends and Carelon solutions to health plan specific strategies; cross-pollinate effective sales efforts



Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.


Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Solid sales acumen; proven track record of sales and growth success.

  • Advanced knowledge of health plan operations. Experience with health services and products such as pharmacy, behavioral health, complex care delivery, medical benefits management, payment integrity, palliative care, advocacy, research, digital platforms, and operations and technology services.

  • Experience building relationships and positioning solutions to health plan decision-makers, such as Clinical Leaders, Strategy Leaders and Chief Medical Officers.

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Plan experience.

  • Ability to travel up ~25%





For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $149,440 to $268,992
