Under general direction, responsible for all phases and implementation of large engineering projects over $250 million. Allocates appropriate resources and adjusts plan to meet project needs. Role typically requires between 5 and 8 years of experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Industrial Engineer will be responsible for conducting studies, identifying areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity across the repair network. They will have a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles and practices, as well as experience in data collection, analysis, and problem-solving while ensuring compliance with industry safety and design standards.
Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducts time studies, work-flow studies, and other industrial engineering analyses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develops and implements process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and patterns in production processes.
  • Designs and implements new production methods and procedures.
  • Prepares reports on industrial engineering activities and results.
  • Represents the industrial engineering department in meetings with other departments.
  • Works with other engineers, technicians, and production personnel to implement process improvements.
  • Stays current on the latest industrial engineering trends and technologies.
  • Focuses on innovation and automation across the repair organization.
  • Manages Value Analysis Engineering form, fit and function.
  • Participates in and supports quality projects and initiatives to ensure that the company achieves its goals.
SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
  • Strong project management: can set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Solid mathematical and analytical skills combined with the ability to read and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Tenacity for identifying opportunities for improvements and developing solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, and uses.
The incumbent works to meet internal and external customer expectations at all times by fully applying oneself to the task involved, preventing errors, and developing and implementing personal quality improvement projects. In addition, the incumbent is required to understand the Responsible Care Management System and actively participate in activities outlined therein.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience in a lean manufacturing/repair environment.
