Description

As a dedicated Trade Operations Associate, you will have the responsibility for the trade operations including account openings, ACAT and non-ACAT transfer process, workflow, work corner and communications with internal and external business partners. Your daily responsibilities will involve account opening, process improvement, customer service internally as well as externally, problem resolution and operational and maintenance processes associated with the trading desk.

Essential Job Function: This is an Essential Job Function Essential Staff position for the purpose of our Business Continuity Plan BCP. This distinction means you are expected to be fully prepared to perform essential functions of your job remotely as deemed applicable and necessary by your manager and the Company.

Salary Range:
Starting salary is typically between $55,000 and $60,000 annually, however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidates relevant experience, credentials/certifications, and internal equity. In addition to salary, benefits include, PTO, health, medical, vision, disability, life insurance benefits as well as 401(k), profit-sharing retirement program and much more.

Location Information: On-Site at our Carpinteria, CA Headquarters

Responsibilities

More detailed responsibilities are listed below:

1. New account opening:
a. Establish new accounts on proprietary and partnering systems including NetX360 and Schwab Advisor Center.

2. Transfers:
a. Process and follow up on ACAT and non ACAT transfer requests.
b. Create and update rollover logs

3. Manage workflow:
a. Monitor and audit NIGOs internally and externally through Pershing, Schwab (Talbot), Schwab, Absolute Capital including all aspects of workflow, exception processing and reports.

4. Client Services:
a. Act as a liaison between trading platforms and service center.
b. Review and respond to service and research requests
c. Onboarding of new reps to the Pershing platform through establishing access and IDs on NetX
d. Communicate with back offices to resolve any issues within your perview

5. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
a. Maintain organized and accurate records of financial transactions, agreements, and client interactions.
b. Update and enhance procedural documentation to reflect best practices.

6. Technology Utilization:
a. Expertly utilize financial software, tools, and systems to perform daily tasks and identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
b. Provide training and mentorship to junior associates in using financial technology.

7. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
a. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, departments, and external partners.

8. Processes:
a. Update and enhance procedural documentation to reflect best practices.

9. Ad Hoc Projects:
a. Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at process improvement, system upgrades, or compliance enhancements.
b. Assist during audits, examinations, and other critical activities.

Physical Requirements:
  • This role typically requires sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods.
  • Minor lifting and carrying of items may be required.

  • Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience) a major plus.
  • 4+ years in a financial services, operations role, capital markets exposure.
  • 1-3 years of NetX360 experience
  • Compliance experience/knowledge
  • Excel proficient

FINRA Licenses Required: SIE, Series 6 or 7.

If not currently licensed with a series 7, must be willing to obtain within six months of hire.
