Job Summary (List Format) Product Design Engineer

- Design Battery Management Unit (BMU) from concept through to mass production, with a focus on detailed board-level design.
- Push technological boundaries to maximize performance and minimize product volume.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, Algorithms, etc.) to deliver products on time and within budget.
- Investigate and report on product issues and problems.
- Develop schematics and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to meet design specifications.
- Create PCB layout guidelines and guide Layout Engineers to ensure all physical and electrical BMU requirements are met.
- Specify custom parts and PCBs for BMU applications.
- Analyze designs using simulation tools (e.g., PSPICE, ANSYS, Verilog) and calculations to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Conduct design validation and testing on prototypes, implementing necessary design improvements.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and finalize design documentation for production builds.
- Define production test methods and limits, and collaborate with Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners to implement designs.
- Relevant experience in a similar engineering role required; applicable education and training are a plus.
