Job Purpose
The Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master will lead large-scale, multi-departmental initiatives involving enterprise infrastructure, software development, marketing technology, and analytics platforms. This role ensures that project objectives are delivered on schedule and within budget while maintaining transparent communication, mitigating risk, and driving agile best practices. The ideal candidate will combine advanced PM/Scrum expertise with strategic stakeholder engagement to ensure measurable business impact.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as primary contact for all project communications, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Present status updates to leadership and project sponsors, adjusting scope or timelines as needed.
- Tailor communication methods based on urgency, audience, and project context.
- Create presentation content to support strategic understanding and governance discussions.
Project Governance
- Identify and secure an appropriate executive sponsor to guide direction and resourcing.
- Establish a cross-functional steering group to support strategic alignment and decision-making.
- Define and manage stakeholder groups to ensure proper representation and influence on deliverables.
Release Management
- Coordinate release planning across multiple project teams in alignment with enterprise processes.
- Develop release documentation consistent with scope and readiness requirements.
- Validate release steps and ensure proper communication with internal teams and product owners.
Risk & Issue Management
- Assess and prioritize risks based on impact to schedule, budget, scope, or quality.
- Implement mitigation strategies and escalate issues appropriately to avoid delivery delays.
Project Planning & Execution
- Build and maintain a detailed work breakdown structure.
- Create and manage project schedules using tools such as Jira, WorkOtter, or SharePoint.
- Develop staffing and resource allocation plans; negotiate resource assignment needs.
- Maintain accurate task estimates and resource forecasts.
Financial Oversight
- Build project budgets, track weekly expenditures, and provide financial forecasts.
- Manage financials and resource allocations in Excel and WorkOtter.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on IT project management & Scrum Master experience delivering complex initiatives.
- Experience managing large, distributed teams across multiple locations.
- Proven ability to structure work into multiple workstreams within large programs; manage multiple concurrent IT projects.
- Strong practical experience with PM/Scrum methodologies: planning, risk mitigation, cost control, procurement, Jira board management, and Scrum ceremonies.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present to executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building abilities and collaborative mindset; able to translate feedback into action.
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
- Exposure to cloud data platforms supporting marketing, customer analytics, or personalization in omni-channel retail.
- Experience using WorkOtter, Jira, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Understanding of business process transformation and change management frameworks.
