Position Summary Aetna Resources, LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the role of Senior Software Development Engineer in Hartford, CT. The position focuses on designing and developing digital software applications and platforms to support prescription, claim, and other healthcare processes. Telecommuting is available. Responsibilities Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements Determine feasibility of solutions, create technical design documentation, and plan project development Upgrade existing applications and systems to improve functionality, performance, reliability, and maintainability Write and review high‑quality code and perform unit and automation testing Support applications, systems, and databases used for prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities Collaborate cross‑functionally on development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software best practices Mentor junior team members Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive experience post‑baccalaureate. Five (5) years of experience with each of the following technologies and activities: Java, Python, or Node.js COBOL and JCL IBM DB2, Oracle, or Hibernate SQL, MS Access, or MS Excel Crystal Reports Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Preparing high‑level and low‑level designs, test plans, and complete project development plans Providing estimations for enhancement and maintenance requests Technical design of business requirements Pay Range $147,430.00 per year to $203,940.00 per year. The base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. The position may include bonus, commission, short‑term incentive, and an equity award program.
