Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in Gameplay, you will lead the implementation of key gameplay features and manage small teams of engineers, collaborating across departments to surprise and delight players.
Responsibilities
Develop, write, and maintain clean, portable code and debug using relevant programming languages.
Review and optimize code written by other engineers.
Apply advanced programming skills to provide effective solutions.
Document technical solutions for distribution to stakeholders.
Allocate work to team members and supervise results.
Mentor less experienced team members.
Recommend system architecture, data structures, and algorithm design.
Manage performance of team members by setting goals, tracking progress, providing feedback, and addressing issues promptly.
Review, analyze, and test products under development to meet Nintendo’s standards of quality and timeliness.
Qualifications
7+ years of software engineering experience in the relevant field.
Strong programming skills, including code review and optimization.
In-depth knowledge of core technologies and workflows for video game development.
Understanding of interactive entertainment methodologies and production pipelines.
Advanced knowledge of C, C++, or C#.
Experience supervising a team, allocating work, and coaching for high‑quality execution.
Proven experience leading and mentoring other gameplay engineers.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA and requires regular onsite work; fully remote status is not available.
The position includes a base pay range of $149,414—$224,121 USD, potential for a semi‑annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
