JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB This position is responsible for the Software Testing of Starkey Lab’s various software products to ensure that high quality products are shipped to our end customers. The candidate will provide software test direction and guidance to team members within the group using Starkey Software Engineering procedures, and this person must have the ability to work with other groups both internal and external to Starkey. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS Lead and mentor software testers and establish goals and objectives for the appropriate test cycles for each release. Provide direction and lead by example on software quality testing to other team members. Interact closely with the Software Engineering development team and assist software developers with problem resolutions. Provide and promote internal communication between software, and other functional groups within the organization. Provide planning of future project releases in estimating efforts required in testing & documentation and advising on product improvements based on experience gained from previous releases & customer feedback. Attend project core team meetings from the initial project planning phase to the requirements and development phase. Implement test processes on projects, write test plans/cases, procedures and scripts, and analyzes test results. Manage, coordinate, communicate and conduct software testing, test schedules, deliverables and status reports to the Project Manager and Upper Management. Maintain up-to-date project schedule and coordination test resources within and outside the Software Engineering department. Perform system level testing on Starkey’s Software and Hardware systems working either in a team or independently. Follow standard Configuration Management practices and utilize a defect tracking tool. Tracking quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts Recognize and identify areas where software quality policies and procedures need to be improved or developed. Resolve and provide solutions to internal and external customer related issues. Participate in the development and implementation of structured testing concepts, methodologies and automated testing tools where applicable. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education 4-year degree or equivalent required. Experience Minimum of 5 years of software test / quality assurance experience. Knowledge / Technical Requirements Understanding of Software development lifecycle principles required. High degree of computer literacy required. Demonstrated excellent relationship management ability. Experience in Window based operating systems and PC’s. Ability to work on fast-paced, team-oriented environment, handling multiple priorities. Excellent organizational, communication and test skills required. Demonstrate reliability along with the ability to drive for results. Able to collaborate and function effectively in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Salary and Other Compensation: The target pay rate for this position is between $78,540 – $120,000 annually. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
