Molex possesses a rich heritage in the optical industry, delivering high-performance, field-proven optical solutions spanning components, modules, and fully integrated line cards. We provide cutting‑edge wavelength management and amplifier technologies, supported by deep optical, mechanical, electrical, and software integration capabilities. These strengths enable Molex to serve the evolving needs of high‑density, high‑bandwidth, and flexible optical networks.
The Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) will lead cross‑functional development programs for advanced optoelectronic products including laser diodes, pump modules, fiber‑coupled assemblies, and photonic packaging. This role combines strong program management discipline with deep technical engagement across optical, mechanical, electrical, reliability, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
This team has been developed to focus ELSFP interconnect systems for CPO.
What You Will Do
Lead complex optoelectronic development programs from concept through manufacturing release
Drive New Project Introduction (NPI) program execution across R&D, reliability, operations, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers
Maintain program schedules, milestones, risk, and critical path
Coordinate execution across global engineering teams, including internal and external development partners
Identify technical, operational, and supply chain risks early and drive mitigation plans to closure
Challenge technical assumptions and facilitate data‑driven engineering decisions across cross‑functional teams
Support design and tradeoff discussions involving optical performance, thermal behavior, manufacturability, reliability, yield, and cost
Conduct technical program reviews to ensure design maturity, qualification readiness, and manufacturing readiness
Track qualification activities including GR-468, environmental stress testing, accelerated life testing, and customer qualification requirements
Present concise technical and program status updates to executive leadership and customers
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Masters degree required in Physics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field
8+ years of technical program management, engineering program leadership, systems engineering, or related experience in a high‑technology environment
Technical background in optoelectronics, photonics, semiconductor lasers, fiber optics, optical packaging, or related technologies
Experience with laser diodes, pump lasers, fiber coupling/alignment, optical modules, photonic packaging, or hermetic optoelectronic assemblies strongly preferred
Solid understanding of product development lifecycles including prototyping, design verification, qualification, and manufacturing release
Technically credible, highly organized, execution‑focused, and comfortable driving difficult technical discussions and challenging unsupported assumptions
Experience with structured program management methodologies
Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and global engineering teams
Strong technical communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills
What Will Put You Ahead
PhD preferred
Experience with laser diodes, pump lasers, fiber coupling/alignment, optical modules, photonic packaging, or hermetic optoelectronic assemblies strongly preferred
