Position Summary

We are looking for a Sr. Typescript Backend Engineer / Architect to join a small, agile team building REST and event driven microservices. The team handles high scale systems processing millions of REST and Kafka events daily. Candidates must have strong backend engineering experience, architectural leadership capabilities, and comfort working in complex, distributed environments.

This role includes:

• Leading architectural direction
• Designing scalable microservices
• Working across cross functional technical teams
• Supporting production systems
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Contributing to cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, and monitoring initiatives

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Node.js and Typescript
• Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB preferred)
• Strong understanding of AWS managed services
• Experience with Redis or similar caching architectures
• Experience with Kafka MSK
• Strong background in containerization/orchestration
• Monitoring tools experience (Splunk/Instana/Datadog/Prometheus)
• Experience building REST APIs & event driven systems
• Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI
• CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab)
• Understanding of software security principles
• Strong Agile/Scrum background
