Job Summary:

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to shape and form metal materials according to specifications. This position plays a critical role in ensuring precision and quality in manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Machine Operation:

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, cut, and manipulate metal sheets and plates.
  • Adjust machine settings for various types of metals and specific project requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy.
  • Measuring press brake operators work with multiple measuring tools and make precise measurements using metric and the US measuring systems, which require strong measuring skills

Material Handling:

  • Load and unload materials such as metal sheets or plates onto the machine.
  • Inspect raw materials to ensure they meet quality standards before processing.
  • Safely handle materials to avoid damage or injury.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Mathematics press brake operators, use math skills to read and interpret blueprints that contain precise measurements, and to make the calculations necessary to shape metal to match these specific designs
  • Identify and resolve issues in production processes to maintain high-quality output.
  • Document any deviations and communicate them to supervisors or the quality assurance team.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and work with maintenance teams to resolve complex problems.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
