Staff Accountant

We’re looking for a Staff Accountant who will own the day-to-day accounting work while maintaining control over job costs and the monthly close. This is not a sit-back-and-process role. You’ll work across accounting, production, and operations to make sure the numbers actually reflect what’s happening in the business.

What You’ll Own

Core Accounting (AR / AP)

• Own customer contracts, invoicing, and collections
• Own Accounts Payable from invoice through payment
• Resolve vendor discrepancies directly
• Maintain clean, organized, audit-ready records

Job Costing (This Matters Here)

• Own job cost tracking (labor, materials, subcontractors, change orders)
• Maintain accurate job cost data in Sage
• Produce job cost reports and flag issues early
• Monitor budget vs. actual and identify variances
• Work with production to ensure costs are coded and tracked correctly

Month-End Close

• Own your part of the monthly close process
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations
• Reconcile bank, credit cards, and key accounts
• Maintain general ledger accuracy

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (New graduates welcome to apply)
• Equivalent experience in general ledger accounting and job costing will be considered.
• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or staff accounting
• Strong attention to detail (you catch what others miss)
• Comfortable in Excel and accounting systems (Sage a plus)
• Able to manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
• Bonus: experience with job costing or construction accounting
