Staff Accountant job at Robert Half, Somerset, NJ. Job Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Somerset County, New Jersey. This role will focus on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and the monthly close process, while supporting the analysis and review of financial statements. As a key member of the accounting team, you will work closely with leadership to maintain compliance and support operational goals. Responsibilities Facilitate the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial reports. Create and record monthly journal entries with proper documentation. Provide support to the Accounts Payable function, including preparing monthly accruals. Complete account reconciliations in a timely manner as part of the monthly closing process. Analyze and report on fluctuations in account balances to ensure accuracy. Oversee payroll imports and verify the proper allocation of payroll costs to general ledger accounts. Assist in the calculation and analysis of prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and employee benefits. Coordinate with internal and external auditors and tax preparers to fulfill requests. Support the transition to new reporting systems and maintain updated processes. Handle additional tasks and special projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. 2+ years of accounting experience. Prior accounting experience in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Familiarity with NetSuite, SAP or similar accounting systems is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
