Job Description

Hybrid’s humble beginnings started in 1997 in the back of a print shop designing, selling, and printing tee shirts. Today, Hybrid is a global apparel industry powerhouse in brand and licensing management. Hybrid provides its expertise and fully vertical operations capability – design, merchandising, development, sourcing, production, and distribution – to a broad suite of branded, licensed, generic, and private label partners. Hybrid’s full-service apparel design and manufacturing expertise extends across the apparel category, including knits, woven tops, bottoms, tees, and accessories.

As our organization has evolved, so has our philosophy of doing business. We have made concerted efforts to remove ourselves from the antiquated approach of other apparel manufacturers and doing things differently has been our focus. We are building a company ethos that breeds innovation, collaboration, integrity and excellence in customer service.

What is my role?

Hybrid Apparel is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will apply accounting principles to support routine financial reporting and account maintenance tasks. This role works under the guidance of Senior Financial Analysts and Controller, assisting in various aspects of the accounting process and contributing to accurate financial records and compliance with company policies.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the month end close process which includes processing journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidating results & schedules and other requirements.
  • Organize and maintain accounting schedules and process related journal entries and disclosures.
  • Prepare, process and record monthly & quarterly royalty reports for external licensors.
  • Assist with treasury functions, including daily bank statement updates, preparation of routine collection reports, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support balance sheet and P&L variance analysis versus plan, forecast and/or versus prior year.
  • Support the financial audits by preparing requested documentation or working closely with other members of the corporate team.
  • Assist with sales and use tax filings.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for FP&A and for accounting department leadership.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries.
  • Other duties may be assigned in accordance with company needs.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Apparel, consumer goods, and/or manufacturing industry experience is a big plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Excel proficiency is required; experience with AS400 or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  • Experience with royalties is a plus.
  • Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Consistently have demonstrated strong critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and ownership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented company.
  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadline.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines and to ask for help when needed.
Hybrid Apparel is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state, or local laws.
