Your Purpose:

Naked Wines is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting team. As a key member of the Global Financial Services team, the Staff Accountant will perform various accounting functions including processing payroll, assisting in the preparation of month-end close, preparing Journal Entries, and other accounting-related processes. The right candidate for this role will be able to work within tight deadlines and drive continuous improvement to deliverables and processes. This position provides an opportunity for an ambitious and fast-learning accounting team member to join a company where the accounting team acts as a critical partner in support of a growing organization. 

To nail your job, you will:

    • Take an active role in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accrual accounts, and other accounting-related processes.
    • Compile, forecast, and report Direct Cash Flow. Requires reconciliation between multiple systems for multiple bank ledgers, aggregation of AP, and cash management.
    • Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables management including compiling weekly payrun, receipting, and aging.
    • Work directly with the Winemaking and Wine Planning teams to reconcile and accurately value the wine-related inventories, including monthly reconciliations between Prepaid, WIP, and Cased inventories. 
    • Assist the wine teams with standard cost implementations, storage reconciliations, and other ad-hoc requests.
    • Manage the Company’s fixed assets, including posting depreciation and annual counts.
    • Fully support and help drive initiatives to improve processes, create innovation, and help resolve cross-functional issues as part of the Global Financial Services team.
    • Support the development, maintenance, and adherence to accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
    • Day-to-day involvement and participation as a vital member of the US Accounting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or a business-related field
  • 1-3 years of relatable experience, can include time spent in a higher education course-year
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and work quickly/accurately under pressure
  • Should be organized, goal oriented, energetic, team player and responsive
  • Ability to act quickly, strategically, and decisively in fast-changing, unpredictable situations
  • Ability to plan and meet deadlines
  • This is a hybrid position that is based in Denver, CO. Must be able to go into the office 2-3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in winery operations, as well as associated compliance issues, is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)

Benefits

  • $70,000 annually
  • Annual discretionary bonus up to 10%
  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance - 90% employee coverage, 60% dependent coverage. Eligible Day 1.
