Overview A large privately held company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build solid general ledger, financial reporting, and fixed asset accounting experience while working under an experienced financial leadership team with a public accounting background. Responsibilities Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting documentation. Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Support the preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and related schedules. Assist with account analysis, variance explanations, and supporting schedules. Work with accounting and finance leadership to ensure accuracy of financial reporting. Support audit requests by preparing schedules and gathering documentation. Assist with process improvements, documentation, and strengthening accounting procedures. Partner with other departments to research transactions and resolve accounting questions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Public accounting, corporate accounting, internship, or staff-level accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of debits, credits, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements. Strong Excel skills and ability to work with accounting systems. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines. Professional communication style and willingness to learn in a team-oriented environment.
