About the Role:
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track Oskaloosa Food Products' assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Prepares and posts journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Performs bank and credit card statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and identify discrepancies.
- Completes bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and identify discrepancies.
- Assists with the month-end close and financial reporting process.
- Assists with the job costing processes by tracking expenses and revenues associated with specific projects when necessary.
- Tracks fixed assets and records monthly depreciation.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Assists during financial audits; gathers necessary account information and documents when necessary.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures and ensures all transactions made are properly documented.
- Utilizes account reconciliation and analytical skills daily to identify discrepancies and variances, allowing for timely corrective actions.
- Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Technology Proficiency – Ability to demonstrate skills using ERP systems, Report Writing tools and Microsoft Office applications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems (Netsuite)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Occasional bending, and fine manipulation skills using hands, shoulders, and back.
- Ability to make precise, coordinated movements with the body to grab, manipulate or move products/objects .
