The Staff Accountant supports key accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end closing, WIP analysis, and financial reporting. The role helps maintain accurate financial records, assists with inventory-and cash-related tasks, and provides backup support to AP, payroll, and contract administration. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants broad exposure to multiple accounting functions and a strong opportunity to learn, grow, and develop professionally. Company Overview: Central Ceilings, Inc. is a large subcontracting company specializing in drywall, acoustic ceilings and other commercial carpentry. We are known for delivering high-quality work and fostering strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations. Inventory of receiving, shipping, and returned material from warehouse. Research and resolve discrepancies or unusual variances. Support the month-end close process and assist with financial reporting needs/deadlines. Assist with monthly Work In Process (WIP) calculation and analysis. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and support ongoing process improvements. Work with management team on additional business information reports as needed. Daily cash receipt postings and reconciliations. Assist with various external audits gathering required documentation. Sales, Use, and other tax filings. Assist in payroll, accounts payable, and the contract administrators when needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 0 – 5 years of related experience. Experience with Acumatica a plus. Ability to work independently and be detail oriented.
