Staff Accountant Location: Tualatin, OR Salary: $70,000-85,000 About the Role This position played a key role within the finance department of a manufacturing and engineering organization. As a Staff Accountant, you will handle general ledger maintenance, month-end closing procedures, and detailed financial statement support. This role balances technical accounting, such as managing fixed asset ledgers and capital expenditure analysis, with hands‑on cash management and payroll support. The team is looking for a self‑motivated, grounded professional who carries themselves with a steady energy and thrives in a solutions‑oriented environment. If you enjoy a collaborative, “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” culture where you can take ownership of complex tasks like commission reporting and audit preparation while supporting daily accounting functions, this role offers an excellent path for professional growth. Key Responsibilities Month‑End Close: Facilitate and complete monthly closing procedures, preparing account reconciliations and supporting schedules for financial statements. Ledger Maintenance: Manage general ledger activities, prepare journal entries, and handle account analysis for both monthly and annual close processes. Fixed Assets & CapEx: Maintain the fixed asset ledger, calculate depreciation and amortization, and assist with capital expenditure reporting and variance analysis. Treasury & Reconciliation: Oversee daily and weekly cash management, bank account reconciliations, and corporate credit card reconciliations. Payroll & Commissions: Assist with payroll processing, record payroll‑related accruals, and prepare monthly sales commission reports. Audit & Reporting Support: Provide key operational support before and during annual audits, and prepare ad hoc financial reports for management. Document Control: Manage internal document control and maintain updated policy and procedure frameworks for the accounting and HR departments. Team Collaboration: Provide reliable backup coverage for other accounting staff members and assist with cross‑functional administrative tasks as needed. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher with a focus in Accounting or Finance is required. 1+ years of corporate accounting experience; experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Understanding of accounting theory, GAAP concepts, and fixed asset accounting. Proficiency with standard accounting software and robust ERP platforms. Proficient with Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis). Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities under tight closing deadlines. A grounded, proactive work ethic with the ability to function effectively both independently and as a collaborative team player. #J-18808-Ljbffr
