Job Description The Staff Accountant supports core accounting functions including general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. This role works closely with Senior Accountants and Accounting leadership to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting. This is a hands‑on role based in Nashville, TN that requires a majority in‑office presence and close collaboration with AP, AR, Payroll, and Operations teams. Key Responsibilities And Focus Areas General Ledger & Month-End Close Assist with preparation and posting of journal entries Support month‑end and year‑end close activities Ensure expenses and revenues are recorded in the correct accounting period Account Reconciliations Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations Investigate and resolve reconciling items Maintain supporting documentation for reconciled accounts Operational Accounting Support Partner with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to support accurate posting Assist with payroll entries and related reconciliations Support accounting for project‑based and event‑related activity Reporting & Analysis Support Assist with internal financial reports and schedules Help track and analyze variances and trends Support adhoc reporting and data requests Controls & Process Improvement Follow established accounting policies and internal controls Assist with documentation of accounting procedures Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy Qualifications Core Competencies 1–3 years of accounting or general ledger experience Basic understanding of accounting principles and month‑end close Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication skills Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Experience in a services, staffing, payroll, or project‑based environment Experience working with multiple entities Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems Work Environment Primarily in‑office role based in Whites Creek, TN Close collaboration with Accounting, AP, AR, Payroll, and Operations teams Occasional extended hours during month‑end close or peak reporting periods Location 3 days in‑office (Whites Creek, TN) WHY ROCK FORCE Competitive Wages Eligible employees may participate in comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as a 401(k) plan, once qualification requirements are met.
