Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Waco, Texas. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities:
• Record accurate journal entries in the general ledger to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis to maintain accurate financial records.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and adjustments.
• Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure proper reporting and compliance.
• Conduct variance analysis for income statement accounts to identify discrepancies and trends.
• Compile supporting documents and reports for audit purposes.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards in all financial activities.
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives aimed at improving financial processes.• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.
• Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close processes.
• Familiarity with cost accounting, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.
• Hands-on experience in accounts receivable and payable functions.
• Ability to perform variance analysis and generate meaningful financial insights.
• Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple financial tasks effectively.
