Staff Attorney Municipal Apply
One of our key clients is seeking a Municipal Attorney. The ideal candidate will have experience representing public entities and handling court appearances for code enforcement cases (both administrative and criminal), as well as ongoing civil litigation, including breach of contract matters. Law and Motion experience, particularly in summary adjudication, is required.
This is an on-site position based in Agoura Hills.
Staff Attorney, Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support and guidance
- Advise clients on the best behavior while charges are pending, including confiding in family and friends and social media use
- Communicate with clients to understand their legal concerns and needs to help provide them with essential pieces of advice
- Strategize on how to resolve the clients’ cases in a favorable and cost-effective manner
- Enlighten clients about legal options and making them know the possible outcomes or threats
- Develop ideal arguments and representing clients in civil and criminal legal proceedings
- Stay informed about any current legislation
- Build trustworthy relationships with clients
- Prepare legal documents such as dispositions, pleadings and contracts in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist clients with the execution of agreements such as plea bargains with the regional attorney’s office
- Collect retainers from clients and executing contract
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant legal experience required, with a focus on municipal law and litigation.
- Admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
