About the Opportunity

Five Star Recruiting is partnering with a global leader in advanced manufacturing to identify a Staff Electrical Engineer for their flagship production facility in the Quad Cities.

This is a highly visible, senior-level role supporting a critical business unit within a large-scale, modernized manufacturing operation. You’ll play a key role in driving process efficiency, leading capital projects, and supporting the continued evolution of advanced manufacturing systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coordinate electrical engineering projects from concept through commissioning and completion
  • Develop scopes, specifications, and manage contractors and project execution
  • Partner with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to solve complex operational challenges
  • Design and implement control system upgrades and process improvements
  • Support and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems, drives, motors, and industrial equipment
  • Leverage data tools (e.g., PI systems) to analyze and improve process performance
  • Drive automation and smart manufacturing initiatives across the operation
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor to engineers and team members
  • Provide off-hours support as needed for critical projects and operations

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with electromechanical systems, controls, and industrial equipment
  • Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI systems (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.)
  • Proven ability to lead projects, manage contractors, and drive execution
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work across teams
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and operational groups
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
