Staff Engineer, Process Apply
A leading energy company is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support a major LNG export facility in the Gulf Coast region. This role plays a key part in ensuring the seamless transition of the facility from construction and commissioning to stable operational performance. The engineer will work closely with operations teams to evaluate and optimize process systems and support day-to-day plant performance. Key Responsibilities:Contribute to the execution of the Ready for Operations (RFO) schedule to facilitate a smooth handover from construction to operations.Provide real-time technical support to operations personnel by applying core process engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and hydrocarbon chemistry.Assist in the development and deployment of process monitoring tools to track and improve production efficiency and system reliability.Draft and refine operational and engineering procedures, including those for standard, special, and transitional operating conditions.Support planning and execution of maintenance turnarounds and plant shutdowns with process engineering input.Conduct economic assessments and comparisons for equipment and system alternatives, focusing on reliability, availability, and total life cycle cost.Participate in process optimization efforts, root cause analyses, technical audits, safety studies, and operational reviews.Develop, calibrate, and update simulation models for key process units using industry-standard software.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent chartered status preferred.Experience:10 years of relevant experience in a process engineering or operations role within the energy, petrochemical, or hydrocarbon processing industries.Direct experience with LNG, NGL, cryogenic natural gas, or similar processing environments is strongly preferred.Demonstrated expertise in feed gas treatment, liquefaction and refrigeration, HHC (Heavy Hydrocarbon) management, boil-off gas systems, storage, and loading operations.Familiarity with commissioning, start-up, and plant performance testing is advantageous.Technical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or similar simulation platforms.Sound knowledge of major process engineering design codes and standards.Ability to develop detailed technical documents and reports.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.Additional Requirements:Must possess or be able to obtain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
