The Staff Industrial Designer for Mammotome is responsible for designing and developing innovative and user-centric medical devices to enhance patient outcomes.

This position is part of the Research & Development organization located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and will be a hybrid position. At Mammotome, our passion is driving innovative technologies that create efficiencies, while never forgetting that at the heart of every breast cancer journey is a patient.

You will be a part of the Research & Development organization and report to the Director of Innovation responsible for advancing the product pipeline across the breast care continuum. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the design strategy and create innovative and intuitive design concepts, considering user experience, ergonomics, aesthetics, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Apply human factors engineering principles to improve the usability, safety and overall user experience, including creating user interface designs including graphical user interfaces (GUI), to ensure intuitive and efficient interactions for healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional groups such as engineering and marketing teams to translate design concepts into feasible products across the Mammotome portfolio ecosystem.
  • Conduct user research to understand needs, preferences and expectations to integrate into the product design process.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to optimize design processes, tools, and methodologies across the organization.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or related field is required. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an industrial design or product design role is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in user-centric design including familiarity with human factors engineering, with some experience in medical devices.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and visualization tools and strong attention to detail.
  • Up to 10% travel with a mix of domestic and international locations; occasional overnight trips are required.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Knowledge of medical device regulations, standards and design controls (FDA, ISO 13485, etc.) is preferred.

The salary range for this role is $135,000 - $165,000 annually. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
