MissionHires is partnering with a client to hire a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer in Buffalo, NY (onsite, no remote). In this role, you will lead the development of complex electro‑hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, and electro‑pneumatic components and systems that become new products. You’ll report to the Site Engineering Manager and leverage deep expertise across statics/dynamics, rotating machinery, stress/fatigue/performance analysis, FEA/CFD, and model‑based design. US citizenship and 10+ years of relevant experience are required. Responsibilities Lead the design and development of complex electro‑hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, and electro‑pneumatic components and systems for new products Apply mechanical engineering principles across statics, dynamics, and rotating machinery to achieve performance, reliability, and safety targets Conduct stress, fatigue, and performance analyses to validate designs and ensure durability Build and execute simulations using FEA and CFD tools to inform design decisions and optimize system behavior Develop and use model‑based design approaches for requirements, architecture, and validation Collaborate with the Site Engineering Manager and cross‑functional teams through the product development lifecycle Prepare technical documentation, design reviews, and validation evidence supporting new product introduction Support testing, troubleshooting, and iterative design improvements during prototyping and verification Requirements US citizenship Onsite presence in Buffalo, NY (no remote) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred) 10+ years of related mechanical design and development experience Proven expertise in statics and dynamics Hands‑on experience with hydraulics and electro‑mechanical systems Strong background in stress, fatigue, and performance analysis Experience with rotating machinery design and analysis Proficiency with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Experience with model‑based design methodologies Strong communication and collaboration skills to work cross‑functionally and present design reviews #J-18808-Ljbffr
