Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II Supervisory (SSMII), Human Resources Office of the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), the Staff Services Manager I Supervisory (SSM I) is responsible for supervising and directing the work of assigned professional staff within the Medical Management Unit, which administers the departments Workers Compensation (WC), Reasonable Accommodation (RA), Return to Work (RTW) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) programs. The incumbent plans, organizes, reviews, and ap Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II Supervisory (SSMII), Human Resources Office of the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), the Staff Services Manager I Supervisory (SSM I) is responsible for supervising and directing the work of assigned professional staff within the Medical Management Unit, which administers the departments Workers Compensation (WC), Reasonable Accommodation (RA), Return to Work (RTW) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) programs. The incumbent plans, organizes, reviews, and approves all work products for consistency with established policies, procedures, and program goals; establishes unit priorities, goals, objectives, and work assignments; organizes staff resources, and develops implementation plans to effectively respond to emerging priorities. The incumbent performs the more difficult and complex program activities in support of the WC, RA, RTW and FMLA programs and serves as a subject matter expert on these programs. proves all work products for consistency with established policies, procedures, and program goals; establishes unit priorities, goals, objectives, and work assignments; organizes staff resources, and develops implementation plans to effectively respond to emerging priorities. The incumbent performs the more difficult and complex program activities in support of the WC, RA, RTW and FMLA programs and serves as a subject matter expert on these programs.

The incumbent works in an air conditioned, low-rise office building with natural and artificial lighting. In addition, the incumbent works in a cubicle in close proximity to others. There is free parking. We offer a hybrid approach with staff working on-site 2 days per week.
