Job Summary Staffing Coordinator. Performs a variety of duties to support nursing administration. Reviews staffing needs on a daily basis, calculating staffing requirements based on flexible staffing patterns and patient acuity and maintains record of reports. Assists with payroll and timekeeping. Supervises Patient Sitters. Essential Functions Reviews staffing levels to actively resolve staffing shortages using flexible staffing plan as guidelines for staffing requirements. Inform appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur. Determine, coordinate and supervise staffing assignments for patient sitters. Provide recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters. Perform or assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assess and ensure quality of services delivered and facilitate staff development programs. Ensure staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Compose, type, and transcribe correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications. Receive, screen, and route visitors and telephone calls. Respond to, escalated, and follow up on inquiries and problems as appropriate. Schedule/coordinate meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments. Maintain assigned calendar(s). Maintain files and office equipment. Order and stock supplies. Education High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate's Degree Preferred.
