Position Summary
The Sterile Processing Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for the Central Sterile Processing (CSP) department. This role supports the Director of Surgical Services in staff development, departmental operations, and compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
The Manager ensures effective decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments to support safe and efficient procedural services.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Surgical Services with staff orientation, training, development, and performance management
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and safety standards
Oversee sterile processing workflows, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution
Develop, review, and update departmental policies and procedures
Direct daily CSP operations to ensure efficient, compliant workflows
Maintain documentation, tracking, and quality assurance processes
Support continuous improvement and performance optimization initiatives
QualificationsRequired
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification from an approved Central Sterile Processing technical program
BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire)
3–5 years of sterile processing experience
Lead or supervisory experience in an acute care environment
