Experience Store General Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Estimated Salary: $65,000 – $78,000 per year

Overview:

Seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead a high-performing team in a pet-focused retail environment. This role is responsible for driving sales, profitability, and operational excellence while ensuring the welfare and care of animals. You'll inspire a team of leaders and associates, foster a positive culture, and deliver an exceptional experience for customers and their pets.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & People Development

• Recruit, train, and develop store leaders and associates
• Foster an inclusive, team-oriented environment
• Drive performance management and partner engagement
• Model exceptional customer service and leadership behavior

Business & Performance Management

• Meet or exceed sales and operational goals
• Monitor financial performance and implement improvement strategies
• Lead local marketing efforts and community events
• Ensure labor, inventory, and payroll are efficiently managed

Store Operations & Pet Care

• Ensure proper care, handling, and presentation of animals
• Maintain store merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards
• Enforce loss prevention, safety, and compliance procedures
• Oversee daily opening and closing procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; further education preferred
• 3+ years of retail management experience
• Strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills
• Business acumen and organizational ability
• Passion for animals and pet wellness
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Driver’s license required

Work Environment:

Primarily in-store with occasional offsite responsibilities. Role involves physical activity, such as lifting, kneeling, and standing. Limited travel may be required.
