Strategic Accounting Consultant Apply
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Advanced Accounting Consultant with a strong background to support client finance and accounting functions during a critical phase of growth and transformation. The ideal consultant will bring deep technical accounting expertise, hands-on leadership experience, and a successful track record in managing complex projects-particularly those related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and ERP system implementations. Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a strategic partner to executive leadership, providing insight and guidance on accounting best practices and financial reporting.Lead or support the integration of accounting operations for newly acquired entities, including purchase price allocations, valuation work, and consolidation.Drive and support ERP implementations and system optimization projects, ensuring alignment with GAAP and internal reporting needs.Support leadership with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and/or review of complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Operations, and IT teams during enterprise-wide initiatives.Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements.Serve as a mentor or interim lead for accounting teams during transition periods.Prepare ad hoc analyses and support audit or due diligence processes as needed. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.Demonstrated experience managing or supporting M&A transactions, including post-acquisition accounting integration.Hands-on experience with ERP implementations or major system migrations (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Workday).Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, consolidation, revenue recognition, and purchase accounting.Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Preferred AttributesExperience in private equity-backed or high-growth organizations.Exposure to international accounting and multi-entity consolidations.Proven ability to lead or support cross-functional project teams.
