Structural Engineer Apply
Our client has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer. The projects include commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional structures. This role will collaborate with a network of designers, architects, and engineers on residential and commercial projects.
In this role you will
- Perform typical structural analysis and design relative to buildings and structures
- Projects vary from new to existing structures
- Projects include tenant fit-up, residential renovations & additions, commercial projects, restaurants and multi-level structures
Job duties
- Compiling construction documents, site investigations, field measurements, analysis and design of building structures
- Design of aluminum, light gauge metal framing, reinforced concrete and masonry, structural steel, and wood
- Utilizing building codes and standard reference materials for commercial and residential structures
- Preparing professional reports, construction documents, and letters
- Production of sections, details and specifications; using the software of Revit
- Production of official and unofficial sketches to modify portions of the structural package
- Estimate schematic designs of structures (columns, footings, and shear wall placing)
- Review of construction documents (columns/shear walls/slab/foundation reinforcement, elevator system, concrete mix designs, and shop drawings)
- Assisting site inspections (concrete pours, formwork placement, foundation layout, slab and column reinforcement placement)
- Attend coordination meetings with the projects team (owner, developer, architect, electrical engineer, and mechanical engineer)
- Manage and modify submissions of projects (Foundations, Bulletins, and Issue for Construction)
- Perform structural design, prepare engineering calculations and structural modeling for commercial, residential, and government buildings
- Provide technical or operational guidance to graduate and junior engineers
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepare technical specification sections
- Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed
- Travel to project sites and meetings as needed

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree - Civil or Structural Engineering Required!
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering Preferred!
- 2 to 5 years of previous work experience in structural engineering and building design Required!
- EIT Certification required
- Min of 3 years of previous experience in similar role
- Professional licensure is desired but not required
- Previous experience using AutoCad & Revit software Required!
- Analysis software experience with Tekla, Tedds, RAM, and RISA 3D - A Plus!
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7 and other industry relevant design code and standards
- Knowledge and application of Building Code
- Previous experience w/ Reinforced Concrete and Steel Design A Plus!
- Structural Analysis A Plus!
- Ability to Troubleshoot
- Proficient w/ MS Office suite software
- Knowledge and Skills Experience w/ C++, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), ETABS A Plus!
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and still meet deadlines and budget
- Ability to travel to various client's sites - estimated 10% - 20%
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
